Callahan & Blaine Defends Claims of Preferential Payments

Insurance Commissioner of the State of California v. Lin Lan Callahan & Blaine's client was sued by the Insurance Commissioner for allegedly receiving $2.35 million from Western Insurance Company and not returning the funds to the Insurance Commissioner who had placed Western Insurance Company into receivership and liquidation. After extensive pre-trial hearings, and a summary judgment motion, the Orange County Superior Court dismissed the Insurance Commissioner's claim and awarded our client substantial costs against the Insurance Commissioner.
